About Luisa Gomez McElroy, MD
Dr. Luisa Gomez McElroy has been serving our community as a pediatrician since 1998. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology from Florida International University, and her Medical Doctor degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. She completed her Internship and Residency in Pediatrics at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, and went on to serve in the US Army as an active duty Pediatrician at Darnall Army Community Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas, where she reached the rank of Major prior to honorably separating from the US Army to pursue her medical career as a civilian in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. McElroy has two sons, Philip (24) and Nick (23) who are the pride and joy of her life. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking and sharing meals, going to the beach, and traveling with her sons on adventurous trips.
The philosophy we live by at Dr. McElroy's Pediatrics is that of caring for our patients and their families as if they were our own family. Dr. McElroy is passionate about her work with children of all ages, and takes pride in working with their families to guide them through different stages of life.
Being born and raised in a Cuban household, the doctor is also bilingual and is blessed to be able to care for patients of all backgrounds. Following the tradition that was started by her late grandfathers, both doctors of Cuba, she is driven by her love of children and a strong will to make sure they are living their best and healthiest lives.
